Due to illness; Witman Manor will soon be closing our cattery.

Witman Manor was established  in 1997  maintaining cattery of excellence beginning in 1998.  Daniel & Georgette Gallegos are the caretakers of Witman Manor.   In caring for these wonderful cats we can appreciate the saying "gentle giant" in referring to the breed.  Maine Coon's are the largest breed of domestic cat.  The cat's nature is to be gentle; which is a standard in the breed requirement.  The combination makes for an awesome animal.

Witman Manor is a small simple cattery.  Breeding Maine Coon’s is a real joy!  We enjoy the cats and care for them as if they were our children.  We enjoy meeting people with a real interest in the breed.

Kittens are really amazing.  It is always a surprise for me to watch a kitten walk up to a family and just know that he belongs with them.  It always ceases to amaze me through the years that when a family allows the kitten to pick them, they are starting a bond that lasts a life time.  It is a much stronger bond then when a family picks their kitten.

We breed only a few litters a year.  Normally we have a waiting list.  We appreciate what people see in waiting for a Maine Coon kitten.

We want to keep in touch with our placed kittens families.  Many of these families have become good friends over the years.

Staying in contact with adopted parents allows us to keep a watch on the health issues that may come up.

We do micro chip for various reasons.  Mainly having micro chips in our kittens  ensures that if the kitten is taken to shelters; we can be contacted if their families aren’t available.   This insures that the cats are  not left in a shelter.

The health of our kittens and cats is our primary responsibility.  Therefore, our kittens are born in a secure environment.  Kittens and queens are kept protected and isolated in a secure environment until they are old enough to meet other members of the family.

Responsible breeding means different things to different people and catteries.  For us responsible breeding means caring for the kittens throughout their lives.  It means being prepared to provide a home for them in the future if need be.  It means trying to keep the pure breed line healthy by testing for diseases common in the breed and making sure that if something is wrong in the genetic line, the parents are taken out of the breeding pool. It also means keeping a clean sanitary environment for our babies.  It means making sure the cattery environment is above standards.   It means putting the cats and kittens safety first.  It means maintaining a good relationship with our vet.   Following proper vaccine protocol and giving them the best nutrition we can.
